WELSH STRIKERS ABANDONED

The Miners' Federation of Great Britain held a conference in London, and decided not to accept further responsibility tcgarding the South Wales mining dispute. The Cambrian coal strike has already lasted for half a year, at a heavy loss both to miners and minoowners, estimated recently at ,C 2,550,000. A few weeks back, ns a result of a conference, an agreement wns submitted, but a minority of the council of the South Wales Miners' Federation refused to accept the agreement. Subsequently a further conference took place, at which the representatives of the South Wales miners again rejected the provisional agreement for the settlement of the strike, and decided to continue the struggle against tii; owners to tho bitter end. The delegates also resolved to ask the National Conference of the Miners' Federation of Great Britain to declare a national stoppage of work until the minimum wage question had been decided; or, in the alternative, to allow a general stoppage on the South Wales coalfields.
