NEWCASTLE COAL STRIKE.
'■-r f STRIKERS' MINE AND A GOVERN- . MENT BILL, By Teleiraph—Press Association—OonyrisrM (Rec. June 13, 9.30 . p.m.) Sydney, June 13. Replying in the Legislative Assembly to a question by Mr. Wade, Leader of the Opposition, Mr. Holman, Acting-Pre-mier, said the Kethel Colliery Company had made a claim for .£76,000 against the Government for coal supplied during the late strike. The prices charged were 40s. a ton for large, and 355. a ton for small, coal. Negotiations are proceeding for a settlement of the claim. Messrs. Kethel's mines were operated, for some time during the strike as a cooperative conccru, controlled by tho strikers. The State Railway , Commissisners purchased most of the output.
