Sir William Lyne, formerly a member of the Deakin Cabinet, stated in an interview that he regretted the attitude of tie Laurier Government in Canada, with regard to reciprocity with the United States. Ho considered the effect would be bad upon the consolidation of the Empire, as American sentiment must grow rapidly in Canada if reciprocity ia carried.
