M. Luko remarked thai he had not been in Hastings for 21 years, and ho was amazed at the progress made during the interval. It is slated that, in future, the Hastings telegraph office will bo open on statutory holidays from !) a.m. lo 1 p.m., and from 7 p.m. to S p.m., instead of from 9 a.m. lo 10 p.m., as in the past.
