NEW. PHASE IN WELSH DISPUTE. By Telceraph— Press Asaociation-Oojyrleht (Eec. June 11, 5.5 p.m.) : London, June 10. The Welsh mining strikers, at a mass meeting at Glamorgan, decided that neither Mr. W. Abraham, Labour M.P. for Jlhondda (Mabon), nor Mr. D. Watts Morgan, the district miners' agent, were to bo allowed to participate in further negotiations in connection with the Ely pit dispute. The Amalgamated Society of Engineers has decided by ballot to levy sixpence a head for the support of tho strikers in South Wales. Tho levy will raise .£2600 for the strike fund. FAST AND SLOW SHEARERS. Sydney, June 10'. During the hearing of the shearing award case, a shearer gave evidence that it was a common practice to allow slower shearers to use the names of thoso with a reputation for fast work when applying for employment. Further evidence was given, as to tho much-increased cost of living. "OPEN SHOPS" IN AMERICA. Vancouver, June 9. It is reported from Tacoma that Pacific Coast business men who are advocating the "open shop" have met. Tho Labour leaders regard the federation of the business men as a first step in a gigantic fight to kill organised labour on the Coast. COAL PORTERS ON STRIKE. (Rec. June 11, 5.5 p.m.) London, June 10. A coal porters' strike at Southampton is hampering shipping. BRISBANE GAS STRIKE. Brisbane, June 10. The gas strike has been officially declared off. ADELAIDE CARTERS' DISPUTE. Adelaide, June 10. The carters' strike is extending. Brewers' carters have declined to deliver to certain, firms. FATAL STRIKE RIOT IN MEXICO. Mexico City, Juno 11. Fourteen men have been killed in riots, tho outcome of a strike of silver-miners at Matehuala in Northern Mexico. PICKETS AND POLICE FIGHT. (Rec. June 12, 0.25 a.m.) New York, June 11. As tho result of a fight between pickets and police, in connection with the garment workers' striko at Cleveland, Ohio, one man has been killed. Seven arrests have been made, one of the prisoners being charged with murder.
