EARTHQUAKE IN MEXICO.
IMMENSE DAMAGE. TWO HUNDRED LIVES LOST IN THE CAPITAL. COMMUNICATION CUT OFF. By Telegraph—Press Association-Copyrieht Mexico City, Juno 7. A great earthquake has been experienced here, resulting in much damago and loss of life. Two hundred bodies have already been taken from the ruins. Tho damage is heavy in the city, and all tho wires are down. The city is crowded with people gathered to witness the celebration of General Madero's entry. There were several seismic shocks when General Madero was being proclaimed tho new Liberator. Tho scene amid tho flames resulting from the earthquake was striking. Madero's arrival dispelled the panic that followed tho first shocks. RECORDS ELSEWHERE. SHAKE FELT IN BRITAIN. London, June 7. Tho seismographs at West Bromwieh Observatory recorded a huge earthquake at 11.15 o'clock to-day. The «arthquake occurred over 6000 miles away. (Rec. June 9, 0.55 a.m.) Sydney, Juno 8. The Observatory recorded a big earth tremor yesterday night, lasting three hours. The centre was thousands of miles away. The shake was the biggest recorded since January, and is p-obably that cabled as occurring in Mexico.
