Opie (New Zealand) lias strained a tendon, but' is hopeful of being able to r<v sume training in a week's time. Woodger (New Zealand) is indisposed, and is not expected to compete in the events before tuo championship. By the English mail which distributed yesterday, Jlv. Mawyatt, of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association, received the following message from Mr. W. A. Woodger, New Zealand's champion sprinter (referred to in the above cable message):— ' "Dear Jlarryalt,—Arrived .Friday 21st. inst.,v after fairly good trip. Am feeling grand, and expect to train well.' Am attending a meeting of English A.A.A. tomorrow night. Weather cold. Being looked after and treated well' by lir, Henry. Kind regards."
