AN INTERCEPTED FLIGHT.
ESCAPING PRISONER DETECTED. By Tcleiraph—Press Association—Ooryriehl Perth, June 5.. A prisoner made a daring attempt tc escape from the Fremantlo Gaol.. Ho had been put to work in the shoemaker's shop, and daily, for months, had abstracted pieces of twine, which he plaited into five lengths of rope, each 27ft. long, Those he hid ingeniously each night in dyed clothes. Ho was about to throw a rope over the wall when his action was noticed by a warder, who was returning for a forgotten pipe, and his "plant" was discovered.
