TWO PLAYERS BADLY HURT. . (By Tclecraph—Press Association.) Auckland, June 4. In the Rugby football matches yesterday, Grafton unexpectedly beat Marist . Bros, by 3 points to nil. City beat Parnell by.24. points to 8. and'Ponsonby beat JJewton'by 30 points to nil. During the latter match two Newton players (M'Davitt and Doran) were injured. The former had his nose broken, and the latter sustained concussion of the brain, and was unconscious for over an hour. ' Christchurch, Juno 4. The annual football match between Town and Country was played this afternoon, and resulted in_ a. win. for Town by 9.points (three tries) to 3 points (a-try).. The annual match was tlso played between Canterbury College and; Lincoln College, ft fast .game in which the College forwards, showing : to advan-. tage, were .excellent in loose work, but the passing was generally erratic,'and most of the, tries were the result of good forward play. The same ended in favour of Canterbury College by 15 points to 8. Dunedin, Juno/3.
