OROUA COUNTY COUNCIL

The ordinary meeting of the Oroua County Council was held yesterday. Present: Councillors W. G. Pearce (chairman), J. H. Vincent, 11. Eedmayne, Hugh Burrell, and J. Morrison. Mr. J. Scheidt wrote, stating that a public meeting had been held in Bunnythorpo regarding a proposal to'obtain a permanent water supply in the township, to cost about .£l5O, and asking tho council's support. Tho Fcilding Borough Council asked for cooperation in the celebration of Coronation Day in Fcilding. The Palmerstou Borough Council wrote, regarding tho children's ward at Palmerston Hospital, stating that a meeting of representatives of all local bodies within the hospital district would be held on Thursday, Juno 8, at Palmerston. Councillor Thos. Rowling tendered his resignation as a member of the council. . Mr. Koy L. Harding, county engineer, reported that the work of regrading Knight's Hill has been practically completed, and'the contract for the supply of gravel on tho Feilding-Halcombo Eoad was well in hand.
