At the n?xt mcotins of the Borough Council, the Mayor will move: "That tho whole council bo a Tramways Committee lo go into the matter of installing electric trains in I'almcrston. and that an electrical engineer be engaged to furnish a report, on the matter." At a meeting of tho Men's Social Club last night, a working committee was set up, and a number of proposals were made for the future •management of Hie club. A member is to be appointed every month to be in attendance to watch the interests of the club during the evenings. -\ Rooiiil and dance, v.iiri hnld at All Saints' Sunday Schoolroom last night, when the Sunday School teachers of All Saints' entertained their comradrv and friends of St. Peter's. In conjunction with the dancing, a number of vocal items were given by Miss N. Drew, the Rev. 11. G. Uosclicr, and Mr. 'Ailkeu. Games also wiM-o indulged in, and a pleasant evening was passed. The 310-acre farm at Stoncy CrHc, belonging to tin; estate of tho lato William Waugh, has been sold privately by Messrs. J. Mounsey and Co. lo Mr. A. Ilnvdins. the price bsing somewhere in tho vicinity of .£3O per acre. The Maori Rugby football learn, which last, season toured .Vuvtrnlia, is now arranging a North Island tour. A match with the Manawatu Rugby Union representatives will be pldjed at Talmorikin on August 16. Mr. .T. Parala is arranging the tour.
