COLONEL MORGAN'S RECORD. By Telecraph—Press AssociaUon-Oopyrieht London, May 30. Colonel Seely, Under-Secretary of State for War, replied to questions in the House of Commons regarding the appointment of Colonel Morgan as messing adviser to the War Office at a salary ,of ,£3OO per annum. The appointment had been criticised, as Colonel Morgan had been invited to retire as the result- of the inquiries after the Boer War. Colonel Seely read a letter in which Sir W. S. (now Lord) Robson, formerly counsel opposed to Colonel Morgan, whose case was inquired into by a Royal Commission, declared that it had ! become clear that Colonel Morgan was a most vigilant, unsparing, and highly-effective guardian of the public interest against Army contractors during the Boer War.
