MISSIONS TO SEAMEN.

PRESENTATION TO MR. MOOEE. Mr. James Moore, of the Missions to Seamen, and Mrs. Moore, who leave to-day-on a health-seeking -trip to England for six months, were the recipients of a purso of sovereigns last evening 'from the workers and friends of the mission. Tho Rev. J. D.-Russell,"'who -made the presentation, wished Mr. and Mrs. Moore a pleasant voyage and a speedy restoration to health. The following letter accompanied the gift:— "To our Missioner, Mr. James Moore' and his dear wife, who are leaving us for a trip to England on account of illhealth. "Dear Mr. and Mrs. Moore,—On ,the eve of your departure for England, allow us to again express to ,you our very deepest sympathy in your very trying time, and to say that you have the warm prayers of all connected with the mission for your speedy restoration to health and a safe return to Wellington to resume the good work which you have both so successfully, under God, carried on these last thirteen years in our port. It is with very deep regret that we have to allow you to leave ,us without a grand send-off, but knowing, in your present state of health, that this is impossible, we ask you quietly to accept the accompanying Rift as a small..token of the high esteem in which you are held by all who have had the privilege'of working with you in any way. During your absence you may rest assured that the workers and all assisting the work in any way will do all in their power to help your locum tenens. so that on your return, which we pray God may not be far distant, you will find the work in 'as flourishing a condition as when you left it. Once more let us express our. warm anpreciation of the good work you have done for God and our sailors in. this port, and to most heartily wish you ..n -.hapuy and nlensant voyage and a sneody return to health. . Praying that God may bring back wifely , and quite reared to. health oiir dear missioner' and his wife who are po much beloved" bv all oiir sailors and those with whom they have cimp in contact.—Believe us to be, yours in loving sympathy,

"Thn Committee, Congregation, and Friends of the Missions to Seamen, Wellington." . .
