AUCKLAND WINTER SHOW.
.WAIRARAPA AND TARANAKI WINS. DAIRY COMMISSIONER'S REVIEW. The Dairy Conunisioner (Mr. D. Cud-' die), who , has just returned from' the Auckland Winter -Show, said, in the ooiirso of an interview with a Dominion representative, that the dairy produce exhibits 'there were very good indeed. ' "A very large number of tho factories ill'the'-Auckland province was represented," said Mr. Cucldic, "and also a number from Tarairaki and Wellington. Taking the quality of tho butter all round, it was highly satisfactory. In the biggest class (for the Weddel Cup) some variation in the keeping quality was noticed, but tho prize-winning lots were exceedingly good. The competition was much keener in the class, for specially made- butter—Hint' is to say, the butters i were very much more uniform. Tho butter was a good deal better than that of .last year, speaking generally. All the axhibits had stood the test of storage very veil. "With regard to the .cheese, it was one ■ of the finest exhibits they have had ait an Auckland winter show.' Tho various lots presented a neat and attractive appearance, and, what is of much greater importance, they were found to he of very good quality. The condition of tho exhibits indicated that the makers Lad taken great.wire in the manufacture of the articles. Special praise is' deserved by tho manager o.f the Greytown factory for- the excellent quality of his exhibits." .' Details of the competitions follow:—
