In the opinion of a settler of Waihakeke, the wesping willow foliage is excellent food and medicine for cows. He states that, whenever they can got at the tree, it will be found that thej' will consume the leaves and tender brjjichcs as far as they can reach. And he builds his theory on that. Mr. T. H. Rutherford, of Masterton, has donated a guinea towards tho purchase of a challenge cup for competition at the forthcoming show of the South Wairarapa Poultry Association. The cup is for the best bird in the show, and has to be won twice in succession, or three times at intervals, not necessarily by the same bird. At a meeting of citizens here on Wednesday evening, it was decided to arrange a demonstration for Coronation Day, and to raise funds for a bnnd rotunda, to commemorate the occasion. ■ A strong committee was set up to further tho object. The funeral of the late Mrs. A. Adams, wife of Mr. A. Adams, formerly of Cnrterton, and who passed away at Jlnhitahi mi Monday after a short illnes.% took place at ,tho Clarerillc cemetery on Thursday afternoon. The cortege was a large one.
