BIG LINER ON A ROCK.

The Ivernin, a steamer of 14,01i7 tons gross, belonging to the Giinard Lin; , , struck Dnunt's Rock, south-east of Kinsale, during a fog, and was beached in Qucenstoiru Harbour. There is a large hole in her bottom. When she btnick her watertight bulkhends were instantaneously closed, and this confined the water to tho fore-part, where there is now a. depth of twentyfive feet. There was no panic, the officers reassuring the 72<S passengers on board. BARQUE TOTALLY WRECKED. (Rec. May 2G, 1.5 a.m.) Perth, May 25. Tho Norwegian barque Mandalay, 913 tons gross, bound from South Africa to Albany, has been totally wrecked on the south const at a spot nine miles from Brooks Inlet, near Albany. Tho crew arc safe. The Ivernia is a twin-screw, four-mast-ed vessel of U,067 tons gross. She was built for the Cunard Company by Messrs. Swan and Hunter, of Newcastle, in 1900. Sho has three main decks, and is 582 feet long, 64.9 feet broad, and 37.8 feet in deptlr. Tho Ivernia and Saxonia maintain the company's Liverpool-Boston service, carrying 2000 passengers and 10,000 tons of freight.
