Tho Norwegian barque Mandalay, 913 tons gross, bound from South Africa to Albany, has been totally wrecked on the south const at a spot nine miles from Brooks Inlet, near Albany. Tho crew arc safe. The Ivernia is a twin-screw, four-mast-ed vessel of U,067 tons gross. She was built for the Cunard Company by Messrs. Swan and Hunter, of Newcastle, in 1900. Sho has three main decks, and is 582 feet long, 64.9 feet broad, and 37.8 feet in deptlr. Tho Ivernia and Saxonia maintain the company's Liverpool-Boston service, carrying 2000 passengers and 10,000 tons of freight.
