INDUSTRIAL BURSARIES.

The Commissioners of the Exhibition of 1851 havo formulated a schemp of industrial bursaries of the vaiue of to .£l5O each, to enable talented science students to tide over a year or two while gaining the experience necessary to enable them to secure remunerative employment in engineering and chemical works. At present many are forced into tho teaching profession. The Commissioners of the Exhibition of 1851 at present offer to various British and colonial universities scholarships and bursaries in science. A science scholarship with .£l5O a year and tenable for two years has been offered in New Zealand since 1592, and there is also a bursary tenabla for one year and of the value of vEiO.
