To-day the-Hon. J Carroll, the Eon. J. •\. Millar, the Hon. D. Bnddo, tho Hon. A. T. Ngata, and the Hon. G. Fowlds will bo in ■Wellington, the Hon. T. Mackenzie in Auckland, ami the Hon. E. M'Kenzie in Otogo. Captain M'Dougall, of the Grenadier Guards, who has been appointed aide-de-camp to His Excellency Hie Governor, arrived from Sydney by the Warrimoo on Wednesday. Mr. D. G. A. Cooper, Registrar of the Supreme Court, Wellington, has been granted a year's leave of absence, and will visit the Old Country. He leaves for London by the Eotorua on Wednesday next. Mr. F. Wnldeßrnve, Commissioner of Police, and Under-SeCTo-tary for Justice, will accompany tho Chief Justice (Sir Robert Stout) am) Mr. 11. 11. Ostler (Crown Law Officer) to Rarotonga, where the Chief Justice is to hear n charge of murder against h resident, W. J. Wigmore, and, generally, to make inquiries into Hie administration of tho islands. .Mr. Waldegrave, though attending in his official capacity, will have no part in the proceedings. The party will sail from Auckland on June 3. Professor Ifutchinson, of Stanford University (California), with his sistor a.ml daughter, were passengers by tho Manuka, which arrived from San Fraiicisco yesterday. air. Leslie H. Reynolds, C.V.., returned from Waiipinui yesterday. He has been inspecting tho harbour works there, and will report io the board within the next week u]wii the extension of present works to accommodate deep-draught vessels. Mr. 11. It. Mr. Howard Runincy, of the Strand, London, n solicitor of tho Supreme Court of Judicature in England, has been appointed by his Honour (he Chief Justice, a commissioner of tho Supremo Court of Now Zealand, in England, under the Judicature Act, ISOS, for tho purpose of administering; and taking oaths, afiidavits, and affirmation*. Mr. T. G. Stringer has been appointed an examiner of masters and males under the Shipping and Kcamen's Act, 1908, in New Zealand. Mr. Charles M. Reliant has been appointed inspector for tho purposes of the regulations for the adjustment of compasses. Mr. P. do Laurie is gazetted a member of the Happy Valley Domain Hoard. Mr. H. T. ElHngham, one of the members of the Land Board, whoso term of office is expiring, was farowellcd at the close of yesterday's meeting of the board. Several members expressed (heir appreciation of the work done by Mr. Ellingliani, who, in watching the interests of tho Crown tenants, had done , excellent work. Tho hope was expressed that Sir. Ellingham would be re-elected to tho hoard. Mr. .Tas. Mackenzie, Commissioner of Crown Land?, said that it had been a. pleasure to work with Mr. Ellingham. Whether ho came back or not. ho (Mr. Mackenzie) could say that Mr. Ellinghani had boon an enthusiastic and useful member of the board. In returning thanks Mr. Ellingham staled that it was his intention to stand for election again.
