One of the Worst Cases oh Record, A Nurse in Attendance Night and Day, » ■ Wheeled About in an Invalid's ■ Chair—Expected to be a Cripple for Life—This Woman Cured by Dr. Williams' .'■•,'" .. Pink Pills.
A worse case of Rheumatism can hardly be ims;iiiod than was endured by Mrs. Charles l'\ Carter. For months she-w-as a completo cripple, a nurse in attendance night and day, and the only outing she had was when she was wheeled about in-an invalid's chair. Her-right leg was drawn up so that it could not ba straightened. Mrs. Carter, after enduring much' agony, was cured by Dr. Williams' Pink Pills, and she has given the following statement for the benefit of other sufferers.
"I had four attacks of Rheumatic Fever in my life, and Rheumatism set in four year's back in my right knee. It first came for a few days in my arm, then tho left knee, and finally settled in the right. I suffered such pain that I thought I> could not live. 1 fell away dreadfully., I turned a yellow colour.. I could not eat, even the daintiest food seemed beyond me. I was in bed for months, and at last I was quite crippled. I wouldscream if tho nurse went near mo, even to change the bed linen. I was too''weak, to move or sit up. I lay on one fide for' six weeks. The knee swelled tremendously, and all tho skin turned black and discoloured. I took chlorodyne till it. lost all effect, for I could not sleep without a sedative. I would ' lie awake at night for hours. Tho doctor said I had Arthritis of the joints. 1 never tkoughtto walk again. The right, log drew up till the ho?l touched the calf of tho other, leg, and it simply could not be straightened. Friends thought I was hopelessly paralysed. I used to be wheeled, out iu an' invalid's chair for fresh air. Tho leg was bandaged in flannel and lint from above tho knee to the foot. I had tho knee in-screw splints, and I slept with a; pillow under it. Friends used to call and fairly give way when they found how altered I was and" what pain I was suf- F feriiig night and dav. ,My husband was dreadfully worried. They wanted mo to go to the hospital to have the leg nut in irons. I was wheeled down and they said it was n case for the surgeon, so I told them to wheel me .back home, and I would die (here. I had four different doctors, but I hey had practically to give tho ease up. I had been suffering for eight months when I read of Dr. Williams' Pink Pills. I hadn't, any faith in them, but thought they couldn't hurt me. The second box improved.by appctifo and gave me strength. Tho. benefit aflcr the second box continued. I was'walking on- two crutches -ami, presently... I could leave off one. crtilch, nnd (hen. I relied on a slick.. I was simply .overjoyed when T found only, one crutch was.needed, for I never thought to. walk'again.. I got better with every box; I recovered so completely that I wasa.ble to tako up business again, and have had charge of a city business also for tho last eighteen months, besides thai, we have our own business in this centre."
