TICK FEVER.

A serious outbreak of tick fever has occurred in New South Wales. Mr. C. J Reakes, D.V.Sc, Director of tho Livestock and Meat Division, communicated' nt once over the matter with tho Chief Inspector of Stock in Sydney, and has ■now received a. reply to the effect that the outbreak occurred in an extnpiuo northern section of the State, and that prompt measures were immediately taken to deal effectively with it. From the communication it would appear (says the "Agricultural Journal") that the precautions taken by the New South Wales flovernment are sufficient to warrant tho Xew Zealand Government continuing tho arrangement under which cattle are- admitted from that State, subject to a quarantine- period of forty daj's.
