The deceased hnd an adventurous career, and saw much Active service when stationed with the troops iu India. Ho was nt once Bent; out to India, and joined his rogiinont, tho 87tli, this, with others, being engaged in tho Punjab district, keeping tho Sepoys in check. The deceased went through tho battles of Central India, and saw a number of conflicts while keeping tho would-bo mutineers from seisins'the arms in that part of tho country.
