BEITISH PEOTEST .EESENTED. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Melbourne, May 18. Mr. W. M. Hughes, Acting-Prime Minister, in referring to the protest of the British shipowners against the passage of the Commonwealth Navigation Bill, as cabled yesterday, said if it was suggested that legislation projected by tho Commonwealth ought to be subject to review by the British authorities he took a decided and strong objection.
