Mackenzie at Wereroa; and Hie Hon. D. Buddo at Kniapoi. Tho Hon. J. A. Millar returned from Picton last evening. The Hon. G. Tow-Ids if expected to return from the north to-day. Jfr. J. B. Harcouvt, president of tho Wellington Boeing Ciub, and chairman of the Finance-Committee of the Coronation Exhibition, has been suffering from septic poisoning since Tuesday lost. His health is now improving, hut it will be a few days before ho will be able to attend his office again. At a meeting of the Onslow Borough Council last night, it was unanimously decided, on the motion of Councillor Stafford, to appoint Councillor Lynnoberg as Deputy-Mayor. Mr. Geoffrey Kye, late of the managerial staff of tho "Wanderers," will act as advaneo representative of tho Wykcham-Low (late Hugh Ward) Comedy Company. Mr. G. Henry Thompson, Mayor of Taumarunui, is a visitor to Wellington. Mr. George Day Verco (Church of Christ) 'has been registered as an officiating minister under tho Marriage Act. Mr. J. Duncan, M.l'. for Wairau, is visiting Wellington. Mr. James Martin, of the building firm of Martin, Hurrell, and Snaddon, has been presented by the members of the Victoria Bowling Club, with a handsome gift, as a mark of esteem, in view of his approaching marriage' to Miss Lloyd Haesell, the well-known vocalist, winch takes place on June 8. The presentation was made by Mr. Win, Mack in a particularly happy manner.
The Rev. Stewart Clark Harbinson, the new assistant minister to the Rev. R. E. Davies, M.A., of Knox Church, Duncdiu, arrived from Edinburgh by the lonic on Wednesday, and proceeded south by the Moana last evening. Mr. Harbinson is a native of Belfast, Ireland, and has been assisting the work of tho Presbyterian Church both in America and Edinburgh with much success. Licnt.-Colonci Ramaciotti, of Sydney, who is relinquishing his partnership in the theatrical firm of J. C. Williamson, Ltd., left for London by tho Ostcrlcy on Saturday last. Mrs. Fisher, wife of Mr. T. W. Fisher, Under-Secretary for Native Affairs, who early in the year was injured iu a motorcar accident, is at present seriously indisposed and an inmate of a hospital. On May 10 a telegram was published in Tub Dominion announcing the death of Mr. Hamvell Williams, a well-known resident of Greymouth, who left a widow and three sons. Yesterday Mr. R. D. Hanlon, chemist, of Molesworth Street, received a telegram from Mr. C. Williams (a son of Mr. Hninvell Williams) stating that his mother died yesterday afternoon. She never recovered from the shock caused by her husband's death. Mr. Williams also stated that his brother, Mr. L. J. Williams, was seriously ill. Leave of absence was granted to Councillors Smith and Trevor by the City Council last evening. Sir Kenneth Douglas was a pawsnger by the Moana for Hobart last evening.
