SUPREME COURT SESSIONS.

In the Sunreme Court Austin Walker, charged with theft from the hospital, was admitted to probation for two years conditional on his not going on a racecourse and making any wager, or being in a public-house. Thos. Leonard Eastern, for breaking, entering, and thei't at Gisborne, was sentenced to ono year's imprisonment and fivo years' reformative treatment. Walter George Edward Wheeler, for forgery and uttering, was ordered reformative treatment for three years. F. A. Cooper, for a breach of the Bankruptcy Act in incurring debts without reasonable expectation of being able to pay, and in failing to keep proper books, was sentenced, to six. months' imprisonment with hard labour. Cooper was previously bankrupt in Wellington. Christchurch, May 17. In the Supreme Court to-day, 'George Henry Carlyle, on a serious charge, was sonteno>d to five years' imprisonment Harry Lee, who had committed theft of .£l3 from the person, received a sentence of twelve months. Norman Ramsay, who was convicted on several charges of bicycle stealing, was sentenced to six months on each charge, tho sentences to bo concurrent. v Dunedin, May ]" At tho Supreme Court criminal sittings to-day, the afternoon was occupied in hearing charges against Prances Elizabelli Bell regarding alleged theft of goods belonging to the Drapery Importing Company. The case, for the Crown had only been concluded when tho time for tho adjournment was reached.
