KILLED BY A FALL OF COAL.
VERDICT AND RIDER, ' (By ToUxrsph.-l'rcES Association.) Dunodin, Hay 17. The inquest on Iho body of John M'Gueo, aged 2D. who was killed.by a fall o coal in the Kaitanpta .nine on Monday ovenins, was held io-day. Deceased was lvearded as a rnreful, practical, experienced miner. When the accident occurred, deceased and two others were falling coal into boxes. No shots were fired on that shift, but two or three wore tired earlier in the day. The section where the accident occurred wao Kcncrally regarded as very safe. The )>).ieo was examined by deputies at 1.30 p.m., find was then finite safe. The jury returned a. verdict that deceased met his death by a fall of coal, and added a rider that the working together of three or fcur men in a mine increased the danger to the workmen. Deceased leaves a widow and two children*
