Mr. Robert Darroch, of Eoscneath School, has decided to retain the positions of president of the Schools' Rugby Union and Schools' Cricket Association. At a recent meeting of the Public Schools Union, Mr. Darroch resigned, as a result of the stand taken by the union in regard to the Marist School boys. He was asked to reconsider his decision, mid took time to think tho matter over. Tho Wellington Rugby- Union, recognising the work that Mr. Darroch. had done sn behalf of school Rugby, also asked him to reconsider his determination. Mr. Darroch conveyed his decision on tho matter to the Rugby Union last evening. On a report from the Professorial Board two Jacob Joseph scholarships were awarded by the Victoria College Council last evening, to B. Kennedy (law), and T. Higg (science). V. W. Burbidge, to whom a Sir Georgo Grey scholarship had been awarded, haying resigned "it in order to accept a Senior University' Scholarship, it was awarded to G. H. Robertson.
