The death occurred at his residence Suiiimerhill, Sydney, on April 29, of Mr! William Boyd, for some' time secretary ' of the Wellington Trust, Loan, and Investment Company, and for many years n Wellington resident. The deceased who was born iri England in 1859, came out to New Zealand as a young man, and as a member of the Armed Constabulary took part in some skirmishing work against the-Maoris, and on one occasion was mentioned in dispatches for an act of bravery. Subsequently lie settled in Wo ington. and joined the staff of the Wellington Mutual Investment Society wliicn afterwards merged into the Wellington Trust, loan, and Investment Company. Ik- resigned that, position in Jul.v, IKII, and went to London. Ultimately ho settled in Sydney. Deceased leaves a wife, but no children. fet J. J.
