All told, there were 73 to listen on Friday last to Mr. Field, M.P., who gave a talk on his recent visit to Ivapiti. He gave an interesting description of the island, and of the Jifo that there exists. Particularly interesting were Jlr. Field's remarks about Kapiti from the historical point of viow. The chief point which Jlr. Field emphasised was that of kindness to dumb animals and tho protection of bird life. After the address Mr. Ryan, on behalf of (hose who went to camp during Easter, asked Mr. Field if he would be good enough to convey to his manager (Mr. Watson) a handsome clock, as a token of their appreciation of his great assistance at Waikonae. Mr. Ryan then i-.t----plained to Mr. Field that each tent had n bov captain. The captains were presented with a badge of honour, which no other boy had the right to wear. He then asked Mr. Field if he would accept one of these badges of honour as a token of thanks for the free run of his ground at Waikanao, ami for his generous help in other directions. Mr. Ryan then called upon George Cray to pin the badge upon Mr. Field's coatOn Friday next. Jlr. Oliver Burgess is to spe-ik. He has spent about hvenly years in China.
