(including about 5000 who were found to be medicallv unfit) The remainder were granted exemption mostly on account of Iho distance they reside from the registered training area'';. There arc still 46,G31 to ho medically examined. In victoria the number registered was 4G,7f.2. Of 30,312 medically examined', 28,<HD were passed as fit for service-a percentage of !)4A About 10,000 havo vet to be examined. It is estimated by the department that the number of youths who will be available for traini'ii* in .Inly next will bo over 100,000 in '\\mIralia.
