HOUNDSDITCH MURDER TRIAL
— I THE HEARING CONTINUED,
'By Telegraph—Press Association-Copyright London, May 7. The trial of the four persons accused of being concerned in tho burglary of a jeweller's shop at Houndsditch in December last, tho sequel to which was the killing of three police and the wounding of two others, was resumed at tho Old Bailey before Mr. Justice Grantham and a jury. The prisoners, Russian subjects, are: Jacob Peters, John Zelin or Rosen, Zurka Dubof, and Nina Vassilleva. The police admitted that Gardstein (or Morouutzeff), the man who was shot, it is supposed, by one of his friends when the police appeared on the scene, on November 19, signed, in the name of Mourin, a receipt for ,C3l paid in pursuance of a telegram received from Russia. Counsel for the defence criticised the police for withholding this fact till now. Tho Superintendent of Police replied that he. had not considered tho matter material.
