THREATENED RAILWAY STRIKE.
NEW DISPUTE IN BRITAIN. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyrisht (Rec. May 8, 9.20 p.m.) London, May 8. Two railway policemen at West HaTtlepool were recently dismissed for refusing to terminate their membership of tho Amalgamated Railway Servants' Society. Tho local railwaymen thereupon decided to tender notices of their intention to stop work, and appealed to the executive of the society to initiate a strike throughout the North Eastern railway system.
