HAWKE'S BAY SHOWS.
A NEW GROUND TALKED OP. .At a. meeting of the. Hawke's Bay A. mid P. Society's Committee, Mr. A. H. Russell brought'' up tho question of .1 railway siding. They were allowed at present to unload show stock, on tho embankment, but the question of a siding was connected with the idea of new grounds. The present grounds were very suitable at present. Tho number at the gate last year was 10,000, but lie thought this was the limit of safety and comfort. In ten yars' time they would be. called upon to accommodate 22,000, if the population increased as was expected. Ho looked for tho district from Petane nnd Te Auto to then contain 30.0G0 people. The gate last year totalled .£"O2. If they were to accommodate 22,000 people, tho accommodation would have to"be inf.de adequate, and he did not see how the present racecourse could be altered much to suit them. Tf they wanted a new ground, it should be planted so that it would bo ready in ten years' time. They would require 40 or 50 acres. This could bo bought now, but it could not bo dono possibly in ten gears' time.
A cheese vat that gets rid of the whey quickly saves time every day it is used, and that .means a big saving in one season. The "Victor" Vat (protected by patent applications) is tho only vat made I with a drain down the centre. .Drop a '• postcard to Albert J. Parian, C'arterton, for further particulars,—Advt
