They arc, of course, only "mark," or shilling, millionaires, but cvon so they form quite a considerable class. These "mavk" millionaires received an unpleasant shock during the, coin-so of last week at the announcement that Hcrr Hudolf Martin, formerly a hifjh official in the Prussiau Civil Service, ami a wellknown writer, who achieved fninc some years ago. bv his indiscreet revelations concerning tlie bankruptcy of the Kussian Treasury, intended shortly to issue a "Year-book of the Incomes nnd Portunes of Prussia's Millionaires." The Prussian finance Minister had Hcrr Martin's lint searched )jy tho polico, nnd all tho author's proofs and manuscripts of the year-book were seized and taken away on tho ground Hint Hcrr Martin lia<l obtained his information by bribing an official of Hie Income- Tax Commission. lien , Martin declares in defence that he has bribed nobody, but hjis simply employed his intelligence to deduce the faels from the income tax reports ol" tho different' towns. However this may bo, many millionaires hnve admitted the accuracy of Herr Martin's "deductions.."
