AUCKLAND'S NOISY TRAMCARS. (liy Teleurapli.—Special Correspondent.) Auckland, May 1. The business men of Queen Street aud the neighbourhood, being dissatisfied with certain matters relating to the (ramway service, particularly tho lipisc made by tho cars, have initiated a, movement with the object of urging on tho City Council tho necessity of the enforcement of full compliance by the Tramways Company with tho terms of the deed of delegation between tho council 4nd tho company. A vigilance committeo is nowbeing formed with this purpose in view. It is intended to engage counsel and to insist on faithful adherence to the terms of the deed 'vhich it is claimed has been ignored in certain respects for some tune. Tho chief grievance of the business men is the noise mado by the ears, and it is to an improvement' in this regard that tho efforts of the vigilance committee will bo principally directed. "The noise of tho cars,' states one of tho promoters of the movement, '"has become quite intolerable. It is not mere-' ly an inconvenience, but it is an absolute hindrance to business. Wo simply cannot do business in Queen Street at all between four and six o'clock in tho afternoons when the tram traffic is greatest. We cannot hear ourselves speak and tho nuisance is quite prohibitory b>business."
