GENERAL FARMING NEWS.
.Where is New Zealand? An Aracrioari agricultural paper reckons it is in Europe. Tho reason given as to why some South Island freezing works have not been as busy as was expected is that owing to the dry period experienced, and tho consequent shortage of fodder, supplies of stock in suitable condition for tho export market have- been very limited. Tho excursion to Moumahaki State Farm organised by the Eltham branch of the Farmers' Union was joined by about 60, including a number" of ladies (says the Eltham "Argus"), In Canada thcro is a revival of interest in tho question ,of "pacing by tost" at cheese factorios, and many factories will adopt tho system this year for the first time, and others will resume this method of declaring dividends. News from Canada says:—"There is every prospect for another record year in dairying if the weather conditions are. favourable. Wister food has been abundant, including a largely increased supply of corn silage. There were probably more silos erected in Canada m 1910 than in any previous year."
