INTERESTING COMMEMORATION.
THE AUTHORISED VERSION OF THE BIBLE. A-meeting of great interest and significance is to be held next week. Throe hundred years ago tho Authorised Version of tho Bible was published. Ino circulation of tho Scriptures at that period produced an effect which, according to the historian J. R. Green, "however dispassionately we examine it, was sinmlv amazing. . Tho whole temper of the nation was changed, tomorrow reference will bo made in most of the churches to this event, but it will also bo commemorated at a united Scattering to bo held in St. Johns Church next Wednesday evening. Various well-known ministers and laymen will give brief addresses and suitable music will be rendered by the choir, under the leadcrshiD of Mr. Maughan Barnett. A sonvciir order of service has been printed, with the'words of the hymns to bo' sung, etc. It is expected that tho audience will more than tax the accommodation of tho building, and arrangements have been made for an overflow meeting in the schoolroom.
