WEDDINGS.
A pretty and popular wedding ~23' solemnised at tho Church of St. Peter and St. Paul, .Lower Hult (which wad beautifully decorated for. the occasion), on Wcrlntsduy... Tho contracting parties wero Miss Kathleen Patterson, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Win. Pattersou, Lower Hutt, and Mr. Olvier Abbott, youngest son of Mrs. Abbott, of "Tho Grange," Pahautanui. Tho Hev. Father Lane, assisted by tho Hev. Father Peoples, officiated. The bride, who was given away by her father, was charmingly attired in an ivory satin charmeuse dress beautifully finished willupoint laco and pearl trimmings t-urmostod with the, usual wreath and orange blossoms and a. handsomely embroidered veil, the work of her sister. She carried a pretty bouquet cf white roses, carnations, autl maiden-hair fern. The bridesmaids wero Eileen and Gertrude I'attorson (sisters of the bride) and Dorothy and Cicely Bnidy (nieces), all of wham wore dainty white, book muslin dresses with white satin trimmings, their hats bring of scarlet silk and bouquets of scarlet cactus dahlias. Mr. Roy Mulhern was best man, and Mr. Thos. Patterson was groomsman. After the ceremony the choir rendered a hymn and the organist (Mr. W. Uell'-Bridger) played an appropriate wedding number. The guests, of whom there were a large number, then repaired to Ihc residence.of the bride's parents (Aglionby Street), where a reception was held and the usual felicitations expressed. Among tho numerous valuable presents received by the happy couple,'was an elegant piece of plate from the choir of the Lower Hutt Catholic Church of which the bride had been a member for 16 years. Tho bridegroom s present, to tho bride was a diamond and emerald ring; to the senior maid a sapphiro ring; to Gertrudo and Dorothy, studded gold brooches; and to Cicely a silver chain with enamel pendant. The biide presented tho groom with a gold albert. Later in the afternoon, , Mr. and Mrs. Abbott left by the Manawatu tram on their honeymoon tour, the bride's going-away drc'ss being a handsome grey cloth costume with -fox furs and hat to match. At St. Augustine's Church, Petono, on Wednesday, by the Rev. .1. D. Russell, Miss Maiy Elizabeth Wyeth, second daughter of Mr. S. .T. Wyeth, of Petone, was married to Mr. Albert Ernest Roiisc, fifth son of Mr. W. R. J. Rouse, of Petone. The bride, given away by her father, was prettily attired in n dress of cream cashmere trimmed with gold braid and wore the usual veil and orange blossom and carried a shower bouquet of white roses and maidenhair fern. She was attended by her sisters, Misses Ethel and Amy Wyeth. Tho .former wore a cream costume trimmed with silk braid, and cream hat. Miss Amy woro a pinafore dress with braid lYimiiiinßs •\nd all-over lace, with hat to match. Thev also curried pretty shower bouquets. Mr/'Thoma- Wyeth was best man and Mr IT Upton groomsman, After the ceremony, which was wilnes-ed by a large number of friends, a reception was held in Jones' Hall, Sydney Street, where the usual toasts woro honoured. The byido*nroom's present to the bride was a gold brooch .set, with aniethysts,. and to the maids gold band rings.
