RAILWAY CONSTRUCTION.
e WEST AUSTRALIA'S POLICY JUSTIFIED. By Telegraph—Press Association-Copyrieht London, April 2G. The Trades and Industrial Committee of the Royal Colonial Institute to-day gavo the first of a series of luncheons in honour of prominent colonials. Sir Newton Moore, ex-Premier, of West Australia, and now Attorney-General for that State, was the guest on this occasion. In a speech iu reply to the toast of his health, Sir Newton Moore justified tho public works policy of West Australia, which, he said, had been profitable. Judicious railway construction was reducing the State from a country of large aveas to one of small areas. Ho added that tenders for twenty Bri-tish-made locomotives had just been accepted by the West Australian Government.
