OFF TO BISLEY.
NEW ZEALAND RIFLEMEN. The New Zealand representative rifle team selected to uphold the prestige of the' Dominion at the big Coronation Rifle Carnival at Bisley in July next have asssmbled in Wellington, and will embark on board Hie Ruapehu at noon to-day. The personnel ol' the team is as iollcnvs: Captain W. S. King (Linwood Rifles, Sergeant H. L. Frank (Nelson Rifles), Sergeant James (Napier), Bombardier China (Permanent Force, Lyttelton), Trooper Maraud (Eketalnina), Riflemen D. Roots (Knponga), A. Henderson (Sounds), G. llalliday (Karon), F. Noedham (Linton), H. Cuthbertson (Tua Marina), Private Loveday (Woodville), and AV. Cox (Auckland). ■ Lieutenant-Colonel Hufhes (Wanganui) will be in command of the team. Mrs. Hughes will accompany him. , „ , ' ~ Riflemen Wakley and Parker (Fcatherston), and 11. Marshall (Karori Club) arc also going to Bisley as "freelances." Yesterdav afternoon, Rifleman H. Marshall was' farewelled by the stall' of Messrs. E. W. Mills, Ltd., and presented with a purse of sovereigns as a token of iho good wishes of his associates in the firm. Mr. ,1. Mills made tho presentation, and made an appropriate speech, in which he congratulated the recipient on tho fact that lie was going to Bisley as a representative of Wellington city, and al s o as a- the Hardware 'Ififio Cliibs.""'Rifleman' Marshall briefly resnonded. The Acting-Minister for Defence (Hon. U. Fov.lds) will probably address the men before thev leave. In view of the special circumstances of tho caso, the members of tho team have been granted permission to wear the badge of the New Zealand Staff Corps during their stay in England.
