ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
NONAGENARIAN'S DEATH. (By Telegrapji.—Press' Association.) Chrlstchurchi April 25. Mr. W. E. Ivory, a well-known North Canterbury nurseryman, and the oldest jnhabitant of Rangiora, died this morning, aged 92. Deceased settled in Rangiora in 1855. He grew the- first wheat in North Canterbury, and it is related that he subsequently obtained a record yield of 120 bushels of wheat to the aero from land which h6 dug over with a spade preparatory to making a nursery garden. He sold the wheat from this crop at 7s. 6d. per bushel.
