The train accident at Blaauwkrautz Bridge was caused through a truck becoming derailed fifty yards from the bridge. It plunged into the abyss, dragging the remainder of the train after it. Some of the killed and wounded wero caught in a ledge 120 feet down. It took six hours to reach them. The injured suffered terrible tortures.
