A NEW SOUTH WALES RECORD,

By Telecrapu— Pro,ss Association—Oopyrieht (Kec. April 25, 0.30 a.m.) Sydney, April 24. The New South Wales banking averages for the first quarter of tho year constitute a record. The total deposits were £53,737,987, being an increase of £2,016,652. The proportion of coin and bullion to liabilities was 28.31 per cent., an increase of 2.34 per cent, compared with the same period of last year. Cash holdings wero £3,600,000 more than a year ago. Tho total deposits have increased by £10,000,000 in three years, and £20,000,000 in seven years.
