SCENES IN THE PARK. (By TeleeraDh.-'-PreES Association.) Invcroarglll, April 24. Tho "Southland Times" publishes the following paragraph, the facts of whicJi are undisputed:—"Tho Park Reserve was on Saturday night and all day ou Sunday the scene cf reytlry reminiscent of an old-time Irish fair or Hampstead, Heath on the night of a bank holiday. There was gathered a collection of some twenty-five or thirty individuals who, in raucous and discordant argument, wrangled and . wrestled through the night and the greater part of tho day. Three kegs, with an aggregate capacity of twenty-five gallons, supplied the martial spirit which was an outstaudiug feature of tho nocturnal carouse. , Ou Sunday the Park wore the appearance of a battlefield. Several heroes lay prostrated in the pig-pens, while those able to maintain a position approaching perpendicularity were so besmeared with blood as to be almost unrecognisable. The three kegs, ill all ■ their . dejected emptiness, were the only participants able to stand perfectly upriglit." I Tho Park Reserve is in the heart ml , the town.
