Gordon, the well-known novelist, to be chairman of the Arbitration Board to settle the Western Caiiada miners' strike. The Rev. Chas. William Gordon is better known as "Kalph Connor." He is a native of Ontario, and was born in 18G0. Ho holds the degrees of 8.A., D.D., and LL.D. Part of his education was obtained, in Edinburgh. lie for some years acted as n missionary in tho liocky Mountains, and it was during this experience that ho obtained the subject matter for li'is well-known and highly popular books, "Black Rock," "The Sky Pilot," "The Prospector," "Tho Doctor," and others. Ho is at present in charge of St. Stephen's Church, Winnipeg.
