» . On Saturday evening at the Town flail a 'start vrns mado with the semifinal of the- tug-q'-war, when the Druids' tram beat the Miramar team after a pull of fifteen minutes. Following were the teams:—Druids: Black, Moriarty, Leckie, White, Peterson,- Chandler, Skinner, and Anderson.. Miramar: Morton, O'M alley, Snell, Ford, Smith, Brown, O'Neill, mid Kempton. H. Wolf captained the Miraniar team, and C. M'Cann led tho Druids. On Friday evening the Druids will contest tho final. This evening the Druids will try conclusions with a team of tramway -men, and on Wednesday Staples and Co. will null tho Pioneer * team. Tho Marathon race which takes place on Tuesfiny evening should prove a good event, as Hiere are no fewer than twenty-two entries for it, including Baxter, Fitzgerald, fToclFon. Rowberry, Finn, and other prominent distance runners. The course will be from inside the Town Hnll, along Victoria Street, Clyde Quay, Oriental Hay,' to the Patent Slip find back via the same, route, fini=hinor with a number of rounds in the hall. Mr. Fred flneeoe will act as turn-point judge at the Patent Slip. Mr. fames Gow as hnndioatiner, nnd Mr. F. Ross and Mr. "W. TT. Pollock as timekeepers.
