SUMMARY AND FORECAST. The barometer has fallen everywhere and very low in the far north. Easterly winds have prevailed and strong to gale in many parts, but decreased in the north to-day. Heavy rain fell on the East Coast during the night, and gloomy and showery conditions predominate. Present indications aro for rain and stormy weather generally, rivers rising oyer tho North Island and on the East Coast of the South Island. The winds will probably veer to northerly in the far north and increase and easterly winds strong to gale are probable ekewhere.
