The wife of a miner named Burgers, residing near Johannesburg, on returning homo with her young sister at midnight recently, told a native servant to go to bed. The man replied that he would sleep in the kitchen, and make cofl'ce for his master when lie returned. Subsequently Mrs. Burgers was awakened by her sistev, who said she felt somebody touch her. Jlrs. Mergers seized a shot-gun, and striking a match found the servant by her bed only half-clad, and with a chopper in his hand. She immediately fired, wounding the servant fatally. Il'er sister was also wounded. Another sinister incident is reported from Krugersdorp, where a married woman was awakened in the night to find a native in the room. Her husband and a male ledger engaged in a desperate struggle with the native, finally overpowering him, and giving him into custody.
BILIOUS ATTACKS CURED.
