The attendance was fair, but buyers were not too prominent, and althoußh business at auction was, on the whole, satisfactory, the prices recorded were easier than anticipated after the recent rain. Some Rood wethers were offered, but only half the entry changed hand 3 at prices equal to tho previous week. Lambs were well competed for, and all those yarded.were disposed of. Id. ADDINGTON JfATtKET. (By Tolegraph-Prcsa Association.) Christchurch, April 19. At Addington there wore fairly large entries of stock and a good attendance. Fat cattle showed little or no clianse in values. Store sheep were dull of sale, in con sequence of the unsatisfactory outlook for Seed for the winter. Fat lambs were not ciuito equal to last week s rates, and
prime fat sheep were firm, whilst others were easier. Sure cattle were mill of sale, but dairy cows were in keen demand, i'igs were in moderato demand.
The yarding of store sheep was smaller thau of late, and was mainly counpse.U of inferior sorts, and these were chicfiy trora oversea. Ewes and wethers formed the bulk of the entry, and tho ewes were mostly aged, and the wethers of a mixed class. The demand was weak, and sales could only be effected at a reduction on hst week's rates. Tho only exceptions were in the case of forward wethers and pood ewes, 'iheve were only two or three pens of lambs offered, and these wore not of good quality. The range of prices for local sheep was good. Thero was an -entry of 6675 lambs, an against 6903 last week. Tho quality was not equal, to last week's supply, and buyers were not competing so freely, prices being somewhat easier. The nominal basis upon which buyers were operating was 4d. per lb., but values were so irregular that this may .bo talten as no more than an average. There were 5866 taken for freezing at 10s.. to 15s. <d.; 416 were taken by butchers at Us. 2rt. to 14s. 5d.; and one special line at 165.; and 393 were passed, at lQs.9d. to 14s.
