Irish Rifle and Vibration were withdrawn from the Denbigh Stakes. The good form of St. Toiley over seven furlongs yesterday had caused him • to be made favourite, with lion Ami next in public estimation. Waiouru led over the first half, with the favourite well back, but he then got a lucky run on the rails, and led into the straight. Clemora then came with a rattle, and, in a good finish, the favourite won by a neck, lion Ami again got a bad passage, but was close up, third. Tigerine" was very sore, and was well back. The Buck Welter event was a runaway race for Cork, who took charge after gain? a l'urlong, mid was liut again headed. Ladrone, the favourite, showed up well to the turn, whero ho was done with, and finished out of a place. Stevens again occupied third place, but, at no stage of the race, did anything, appear to trouble Cork. The winner was successful at \Vaipukurau on Monday, and only arrived at Feilding an hour or so before the race.
Winchester and Marton. were evenly backed in the Ooen Hurdles; for which Sardonyx was withdrawn. The two former had the race, to themselves, and, after a good battle, Mnrton won in the last few strides after getting' anything but a clear passage. There were five starters in the Hack Hurdles, in which Leolanter fell opposite the stand, and gave N. Campbell a se\l'ro shaking. Puketotara was in charge from the word "Go," and, though he had to \ be hard ridden over the last furlong, iie succeeded in scrambling home by a neck, i All Trumps got badly away, and was hard at it for the whole journey.' Canadian was again pulled up. Tho big.race again proved a boilover, for Mulga Bill took charge half n inile from home; and, stalling off a strong run by the favourite (Goodwin Park), won by five lengths, nnd paid the biggest price of the meeting: Queen of Scots made the pace a ciackcr for six furlongs, when the field closed on her. Con the Rhaughraun and tho favourite tried, hard to get up to Mulga Bill across the bottom, and tho former was the first beaten. The favourito did not get a good run. Mero/* was one of the last to finish, and her display was very disappointing.
Vibration was a. hot fnvourito in tho Uowa Hack race, but his rider, when winning easily, took matters in a leisurely fashion, and Gaby, coming fast, got up in the Inst stride' in time to win by , a head. Pnrewnnui was a poor third. Thirteen started in the Hack Scurry, with I'iriwaj favourite. From a good start Mnkara made the pace, giving way afterwards to Monologue, who led into the straight. Mnkara then challenged, and won on the post by a head. Piriwai was a neck away third, aod Taft was fourth. A splendid race concluded the meeting, Waipmtui, who started third favourite, winning the Makino Welter Handicap. Front a very good start, Wimmern, Te Ttflti, and Floater stood out in (hat order.
