TEACHERS' SUPERANNUATION BOARD.
The quarterly meeting of the Teachers' Superannuation Board was held yesterday, the lion. D. Buddp■ presiding in the absence of tho Minister for Education (the Hon. G. Fon-lds). Forty-nine contributors, who had voluntarily retired before becoming entitled to the benefits of the Act, were given a refund of the amount of their contributions. ■ ' Allowances were granted to nine contributors who had ivached tho retiring age, ranging from ,652 to X 2"7 per annum. Three contributors who iu\> travelling in Europe with the' object of widening their , experience made applications under that section of tho Act" which provides that teachers out' of employment may bo retained as contributors for twelve months, and for an extra term of twelve months if application lor an extension of time is made before the first twelve months lias expired. The v annlications were granted. Tho deaths of "two widows of deceased annuitants, each of whom was drawing .£lB a year, was renorted, ;;s was also the death of a single male annuitant. In the case of tho two deceased contributors it. was decided to grant a refund of the amount of their contributions to their legal personal representatives.
